Take The Stress Away

March 16, 2017 by darcibos Leave a Comment

We all have stress and I’m sure if we could find ways to relieve it we would right? I have found one way that helps tremendously when I have “one of those days”. It’s in a small little bottle called Stress Away. The past couple months I have been dabbling in the world of essential oils more than ever. I think as I get older, I have more and more reasons to find more natural and healthy ways to help alleviate pain, sickness, stress, etc. We have some days that are more stressful than others, whether it be because of finances, sickness, feelings, friends, family, whatever the case, we have it just like everyone else. I’ve found just one small way to help on some of those days when I feel like I just can’t seem to calm down.

Some of you may know this and some don’t but I have had a couple panic attacks within the past couple months. Without getting into details on why, sometimes there is no “why”, just know, they can be scary and uncontrollable. I probably don’t experience them like some of you, I know mine were a mild form and a lot of it was my mind thinking too much and thinking negatively. So this small bottle titled Stress Away helped alleviate some of those panic feelings in the moment. It doesn’t take you out of the panic and worry, but it had a huge calming effect on me.

What does it mean to be stressed?

Definition of Stress: constraining force or influence

Such As…

a :  a force exerted when one body or body part presses on, pulls on, pushes against, or tends to compress or twist another body or body part; especially :  the intensity of this mutual force commonly expressed in pounds per square inch

b :  the deformation caused in a body by such a force

c :  a physical, chemical, or emotional factor that causes bodily or mental tension and may be a factor in disease causation

d :  a state resulting from a stress; especially :  one of bodily or mental tension resulting from factors that tend to alter an existent equilibrium job-related stress

e :  strain, pressure

In Stress Away you will find a combination of a few oils. I have gone a little in detail about those oils found in there and why this one can be such a Stress powerhouse.

Stress Away

Copaiba:

Is known to have high levels of beta-caryophyllene which has been extensively studied for its ability to modulate the body’s response to irritation.

Lime:

Has a wonderfully light and uplifting aromatic scent. Encourages feelings of positivity.

Cedarwood:

Helps create a calming and comforting atmosphere. Its aroma is soothing and grounding and can help maintaining focus.

Vanilla:

The scent of vanilla can be relaxing and tranquilizing. Vanilla can stimulate the secretion of certain hormones like testosterone and estrogen which help bring about an aphrodisiac like atmosphere.

Ocotea:

Also helps the body fight off irritation, reduces feelings of anxiousness, stress and headache.

Lavender:

Has a clean, calming and soothing fragrance. Is known to relieve nervous tension, promotes relaxation when diffused, applied topically or added to a bath.

All of those in one little bottle? Yes, which is why I am talking about Stress Away to you today.

If I had a magical pill for you to take all your stresses away I would share it with the world. I know how hard life can be and I know mine doesn’t compare to some of yours. If there are small things we can do to help ourselves at a minimal cost, I say why not try it!

Soon, I will be starting a series on my blog soon titled How To Love Life On A Budget. This could help the stress in our lives if we can learn to be ok with where we ARE in the moment and not stress about where we AREN’T. A week or two ago I threw out a Facebook post asking what you all wanted to hear from me and this one was highlighted by many of you far more than any of the other topics! I can’t wait to start that journey with you!

Frankincense – A Gift As Good As Gold

March 2, 2017 by darcibos Leave a Comment

Frankincense was offered up in biblical times with gifts of gold. To be offered up with such a high end gift, this stuff must be great right? I mean its worth a shot!

Getting older, if you don’t take care of your skin, it starts to deteriorate and finally this year I have decided to use better products. My husband and I have been using Frankincense to promote healthier skin for ourselves. He has been noticing some skin spots that need some extra love so we have been applying it topically without any carrier oil or lotion. So far we have loved the way it makes our skin feel and look. We all miss that youthful skin of our childhood years, but there are still options for us to take care of what we’ve got now.

Home Remedies For A Cold

February 23, 2017 by darcibos Leave a Comment

During the months of January and February I spent most of my time being sick. Started off with just a sore throat, then cough, then sinus, then all of the above together. I was miserable. There were days where I would wake up in the morning and think, “ok, I feel much better today.” Ya right, give it an hour and I was back to hack’n up a lung. I felt almost claustrophobic because I couldn’t breath, smell or taste for over a month. It’s the weirdest feeling ever. So I tried all kinds of home remedies and one made a huge difference.

I am all about going to the doctor and I am also all about boosting your body with natural vitamins and a healthy diet to help out your immune system. While being sick I took large amounts of vitamin C, juiced my greens, ate healthy(most of the time), drank tea, etc…Tried all the home remedies, but then my sweet sister in law introduced me to some Young Living Oils. Now I have used essential oils in the past and highly believe in the powers they have, but I hadn’t had any in awhile so this was so nice, plus I was trying everything I could to not have to go to the doctor. You see, there was this perfect oil for what I was going through, it’s called RC.

This small little bottle helped me feel like I could partially live again while being sick. I would take a couple drops, mix them with a carrier oil and rub it on topically onto my chest, neck and temples. I also used my handy dandy diffuser and diffused this oil a couple times a day, especially right before bed. Those nights that I did that, I slept better than any other night. I could actually breathe. Now obviously this isn’t a cure all, but it was something that helped me in the meantime. (I am now obsessed with diffusing oils!)

Fun Facts

-RC is a unique combination of 3 types of Eucalyptus, Myrtle, Marjoram, Pine, Lavender, Cypress, Black Spruce, & Peppermint.

-You can diffuse to create a comforting aroma and support respiratory function.

-Add to a carrier oil like their V-6 Vegetable Oil Complex to create a spa like, soothing atmosphere with massage.

-Rub on bottoms of feet before exercise to uplift and inspire.

-Add a few drops to a hot bath and breathe in!

I finally did go to the doctor and ended up on antibiotics, but if you are like me and try all the different home remedies first, this is definitely a good one to have in your back pocket! It’s also great if you have kids who hate taking medicine and they need to get some sleep. You can rub it on their feet before bed, make a little topical treatment for their chest and put a couple drops in the bath to relieve a congested chest and nose for a short period of time.

I ordered a whole starter kit so I got a HUGE deal on all my oils, but you can just order them by the singles as well! It’s worth it!

If you want to take a look, just one simple click here and you can check it all out!
